Hello, my friend!
I hope you’re having a wonderful week! Spring has sprung here in the Coastal Bend. I took my kids to the park this morning after the Brigadoon-esque fog lifted and was greeted by mosquitoes breaking their fast on my ankles. Grrrr!! It’s not even March yet, and they’re already lit-er-ally sucking the life out of me. Thank goodness for bug spray…although apparently it works better if one actually packs it in her backpack and takes it with her to the park. Go figure.
I got off of Instagram…again! (Incredible segue, I know) And I don’t miss it one iota. I really don’t. Turns out I can learn just as much — okay, MORE — from long-form content, and get infinitely more dopamine hits from the (are you ready for it…) real world! Sure, I do sorta miss the ridiculous memes and hilarious videos, but when I’m on my deathbed, which will I regret more: not seeing humorous memes, intriguing health reels, and troubling news stories, or not spending more precious moments playing with my children or answering one of their one-in-a-million, super-cute questions, or simply daydreaming like I’m six again? We all know the answer. (But if you see a good meme, email it my way hahaha…)
Okay, that bit of earthshaking news leads me to Part I of this week’s Top 4!

The Willingness to Suffer
“Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to one’s self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily; and why older persons, especially if vain or important, cannot learn at all.” – Psychiatrist Thomas Szasz
Consistency is King
“In theory, consistency is about being disciplined, determined, and unwavering.
In practice, consistency is about being adaptable. Don’t have much time? Scale it down. Don’t have much energy? Do the easy version. Find different ways to show up depending on the circumstances. Let your habits change shape to meet the demands of the day.
Adaptability is the way of consistency.” – James Clear
Latest Podcast I’m Digging
I recently discovered Dr. Charlie Fagenholz via a recent interview he did with Alex Clark on Culture Apothecary and immediately jumped over to his own podcast, RED PILL YOUR HEALTH, which he co-hosts with @naturalnursemama Lauren Johnson. Check it out here and learn about all sorts of health and wellness-related topics, such as Botox, vasectomies, immunity, emotional healing, and SO. MUCH. MORE!
