A Few Favorite Quotes for Spirit, Soul, and Body

Hello, my friend!

I hope this email finds you joyful and well wherever you are! I’m currently sitting at Life Time gym here in San Antonio watching my 2.5-year-old-son Isaiah swim and splash in the indoor pool with his new bestie, Samuel (Samuel’s mom is supervising – don’t worry! 😉).

I wanted to pop into your inbox with a bit of Quote Soup, as, for space’s sake, I didn’t include the Quote Soup segment in last month’s letter. I don’t know about you, but I quite enjoy stumbling across thought-provoking, motivational, and/or soul-stirring quotes throughout my week; I hope the following will serve as fuel for whatever goals and challenges you may have before you!

Mindset:

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” – Maya Angelou

“Planning and preparation are useful until they become a form of procrastination. Is this task enhancing my actions or substituting for them?” – James Clear

“The wise are instructed by reason; ordinary minds by experience; the stupid, by necessity; and brutes by instinct.” – Cicero

“Clear, unscalable, ahead Rise the Mountains of Instead From whose cold cascading streams, None may drink except in dreams.” – W.H. Auden (thank you for sharing this one with me, John!)

Health:

“Imagine if the culture took the attention it put on masks, social distancing and vaccines and invested it instead – with the same amount of energy and money – into helping people build healthy immune systems, where we would we be.” – from the Weston A. Price Foundation

Faith:

“We are of such value to God that He came to live among us … and to guide us home. He will go to any length to seek us, even being lifted high upon the cross to draw us back to Himself. We can only respond by loving God for His love.” – Catherine of Sienna

“Prayer is by nature a dialogue between man and God. It unites the soul with its Creator and reconciles the two. Its effect is to hold the world together.” – John of the Ladder

“A quiet place is a good place to find out God’s angle on any problem.” – Janette Oke

I hope one of these resonated with you! If so, drop me a line and let me know – I love hearing from you!

Till next time, blessings and shalom!
